We are currently looking for two chef/cooks to join us in Perth. 

The hours can be flexible (with negotiation), with a minimum of 16 hours per week between Monday and Saturday.

We are a well-established charity and social enterprise based in central Perth.  We run two cafes, a day centre kitchen, several lunch clubs and deliver outside catering to businesses all over the local area.

Due to an increase in business and staff changes, we are now recruiting for two chef/cooks to join us.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has previous catering experience in a similar role
  • Is energetic and enthusiastic
  • Has excellent culinary and service skills along with good attention to detail
  • Is a people person – you will, on occasion, be required to train and work with volunteers and young people

 

Duties will include:

  • Assisting in preparing delicious food using fresh ingredients and presented beautifully
  • Preparing and cleaning the kitchen areas
  • Assisting with deliveries, food labelling and food storage
  • Following Food Safety and Health and Safety policies
  • Weekend work required (occasional Saturdays only)
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained
  • Ensure all appropriate paperwork is completed as and when required
  • Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you

 

Person Specification

  • Food/Hygiene certificate
  • Ability to plan and prepare meals
  • Ability to maintain high levels of hygiene within the workplace
  • Experience of food preparation
  • Bakery/pastry skills/experience would be advantageous
  • Ability to cater to various dietary requirements
  • A driving licence would be advantageous but not essential
