THE POWER
OF WORK

powerofwork

We believe that employment and inclusion is for everyone.

Going to work enriches us. It allows us to make connections with people, to absorb and develop new skills, to support and be supported.

Work provides us with a common goal and a sense of being a part of our wider community.

TRAINED
AND READY

trained

We train our jobseekers in REAL business settings by working in partnership with our own community interest company, Giraffe Trading.

Here we are able to provide jobseekers with experience in hospitality, retail, horticulture, cooking, customer service and administrative tasks. We also facilitate accredited training such as REHIS Food Hygiene and Cooking Skills, WorldHost Customer Service training, First Aid and other vocational and skills based certification.

GIVE SOMEONE
A CHANCE

givechance

Can you offer someone a chance to be a part of your team?

Work experience on a voluntary basis for those that require support is crucial to help our jobseekers build a sense of self-worth and community. As little as two hours per week could make a huge difference to someone’s life.

Our work opportunities are supported by volunteer ‘work buddies’ who provide vital encouragement to jobseekers who are setting out on their journey into work, so that your staff can rest assured someone is there to help as needed.

“I’ve been helped with everything—I feel more confident, my numeracy skills have improved and that has helped me get my first-ever paid work. The support has been excellent from CheckIn-Giraffe.”

Martin, from jobseeker with Giraffe to breakfast club assistant at a local Primary school.
